Pilates Group Mat Class Schedule

Pilates Mat Classes are the floor work version of the Pilates method. These classes take place in a group setting using your body weight as the primary source of resistance. Focus is placed on precise movements originating from the center or core of your body. Working from the deepest layers of muscles, which  stabilize and support your spine and pelvis, resulting in  a strong, flexible spine with ideal posture and alignment. Classes emphasize the foundational principals of Pilates while offering modifications and variations to suit each students individual needs.

Class Descriptions:

Beginner Pilates Start with the basics and get the most out of your Pilates Mat Classes! You'll learn the fundamentals and proper technique of Pilates mat, focusing on body connections, breathing, alignment and awareness. Learn how to identify your own weaknesses and imbalances and work with them to restore healthier movement. This class is great for newcomers to Pilates, who want to get the most out of mat class, and for those who want to refine their knowledge, understanding and ability.

Pilates Mat Classes are a movement re-education program designed to work every muscle in the body in an efficient, focused manner. The exercises are designed to align, lengthen, and strengthen the body in a unique way. Most movements are non-impact and non-weight bearing. All require focus and concentration. Every hour-long class is in a small, personalized setting allowing us to meet each client's particular needs. Classes are suitable for students of all levels and abilities.

Gyrokinesis®  incorporates many key principles from yoga, dance, gymnastics and tai-chi. This floor work version of Gyrotonic works the entire body through seven natural elements of spinal movement: forward, backward, left side, right side, left twist, right twist and circular, as well as all other joint articulation.

This methodology systematically and gently works the joints and muscles through rhythmic and undulating exercises.  Movements stimulate the body's internal organs and different corresponding breathing patterns are integrated.

Fluidity is the key.  Postures are not held for long periods of time.  Instead, postures are smoothly and harmoniously connected through the use of breath, making exercises appear and feel more like a dance than traditional yoga.

ZUMBA combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations are "FUN AND EASY TO DO". Zumba is a “feel-happy” workout that is great for both the body and the mind. ZUMBA is a fusion of Latin and International music - dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness system! The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Zumba utilizes the principles of fitness interval training to maximize caloric output, fat burning and total body toning.
